Relaunch for Schoolnet
The Norwegian Schoolnet is the Directorate for Primary and Secondary Education’s portal on the Internet for pupils, teachers and school administrators, parents and others interested in schools and education. The portal will be of use to everyone who participates in or is responsible for primary and secondary education.
The Norwegian Schoolnet is affiliated with the Nordic and the European schools networks.
The Norwegian Schoolnet was established by the National Centre for Educational Resources in 1996 as part of the follow-up to the Action Plan for ICT, which started the same year.
Portal front pages
- for pupils in years 1 – 7
- for pupils in years 8 – 10
- for pupils in upper secondary education
- a specific teacher and school administrator start page
The Norwegian Schoolnet as a resource bank
The Norwegian Schoolnet’s content areas, links, news and activities form an important part of what we can offer those associated with schools or those who are themselves at some stage or other of the 13 years of primary and lower secondary education.
The Norwegian Schoolnet as a meeting place
As well as functioning as a resource bank, Schoolnet can offer four login services for schools:
School Post (Skolepost) is a free, no spam, online email service. Schoolbag (Skolesekk) allows you to store your own documents. School Common Room (Skolestue) allows people to work together over the Internet. And School Newsletter (Skoleavis) is a service that allows schools to publish one or more school newsletters in which they can present their school, a project the school has being working on, or anything else they feel it is important to tell others about.
Feedback to the editorial staff
We want to know how The Norwegian Schoolnet’s new look and content is received by our users and look forward to receiving feedback, good and bad. You can contact the editorial staff via our contact form. Please note that the new Schoolnet’s content is in its infancy and it is starting with a blank page. A lot of development will take place in the future, which we hope Norwegian schools will benefit from. If you have some tips about content, then contact us.
